Went to the other house and cleaned a LOT of crap out. Guess what? It has termites too! So not only do we need to replace the drywall and tile the floor, but we have that to dea wih as well. Grrr.


Dot took me to see my bird. I missed him sooo much!! While there he hopped off my shoulder onto one of the play gym tree stands where two citron cockatoos were hanging out. One of them, a male, likes to stick his head down my shirt, between my boobs, then giggle softly and snuggle his beak against my elbow.

So since Cassie decided to stay there (read: I couldn't get him to step up without biting my hand) I moved to the other bird, the shirt bird as I call him. He was saying things really soft to get my attention, then stepped up onto my arm and said "Peekaboo" softly while raising his wings and a foot. It was sooo cute! He mumbled something else into my ear, then just left his head on mine. Yeah... wanting to take him home with Cassie when I can finally lol.. probably can't...

Then one of the African Grey babies skittered out of the pen and flew/crashed into my foot, so I had to pick him up and set him back in with his sibs. A while later another baby was just strolling along on the floor, all casual like, so I scooped him up and put him back.

Cassie got jealous of the citron on my shoulder so he began talking, saying "shake your boot-ay" and "peekabooo!" which the bird on my shoulder would actually reply to with "Peekaboo!" It was soooo cute!!! ( do have that extra cage and he is about the size of Cassie.... NO NO can't get another bird... but... love him soo much...!!)

I had to pry the boob loving bird off me and set him back on the stand. I went and petted this darling Molluccan cockatoo (now known in this journal as an M2). S/he immediately lowered their head for a head scratch and I preened off some of their feather sheaths. I got him/her to step up and s/he cuddled up hard, put their head on my shoulder and just stayed there. Velcro bird!! Talk about a heart melting feathered love ball! Even got my aunt to hold him/her. God I need to stop doing this before I buy the whole damn store out of birds lol. It's family run and they really know birds. It's great and Cassie is happy there.

When I left I put Cassie back in his cage and he said "Bye Bye" cheerfully. LOL.

Got to talk to dad's best friend Uncle Ed tonight on YIM. They moved my dad to the subacute facility yesterday (5 minutes from Ed and Dee) and he moved his left arm!!! He can now move his left arm on command. Its weak, but it moves. Dee says its right on time for the prognosis of a full recovery. She was expecting something like this about now. Tomorrow they're going to use a special electrical induction machine for training Doug to use his left arm and strengthen it.
The electric shock feelings and twitches he had last week were good, but moving it on command is *great*.

Keep in mind, when he first got to Kennedy Rehab, he could barely twitch his left leg, now he can walk on it (with a brace). Now he can walk 150 feet with a cane and brace.

SOO HAPPY!!
Tomorrow more cleaning. Ick.
